Conflict Summary
Frederick Douglass had a bitter sweet moment when moving to Baltimore. His new master wife Mrs. Sophia Auld starts to teach him how to read out of her own kindness not knowing that slaves shouldn't be literate. Mr. Auld demands his wife to stop teaching him because he says that if you teach them to read then they would be unmanageable. By Douglass already learning a little something he never gives up and find other ways to learn such as using neighborhood little white kids to teach him and give him books.
The Main Conflict
The Fact that Douglass set out to improve himself and get an education, knowing that he has to outwit his masters to do so. By him doing that it caused him to be severely punished multiple times, but later paid off because he became a freed man.
